My son is now seven months previous and just lately started out employing the drop ins I like them because they get no time to clear them!

I used Avent with my son. They are good for both breast milk and formula. Look up Avent.
I planned to breastfeed my 1st, but bought some bottles to have on hand anyway, just in case I wanted to pump, etc. It’s a good thing I did! My milk didn’t come in right away so we had no choice but to supplement with formula. I also did pump some too so it was good to have them handy.
At the advice of a couple family members we purchased Avent bottles and never had any problems with them and my son went back and forth from breast to bottle without any issues. I would get 6 smaller 4oz size and maybe 3 of the larger 9 oz. size until you know how often you’ll use them. Start with the stage 1/slow flow nipples, they have the slowest flow.
Good Luck and congratulations!
If you plan on pumping milk, you will need to get bottles. I would purchase some bottles before you give birth and have them sanitized and on hand just in case. I breastfed and expressed milk for 9 months. I used Avent. they are easy to clean. They are durable. The other ones I tried had too many parts. It is kind of an experiment you do with which one do you like and which one does baby like. The store brand ones are usually fine. Just had a few that leaked on me but they were cheap so you get what you pay for.
Oh and if you go Avent, make sure you have number 1 nipples or one hole nipples to start with. My one year old was on number 1 nipples til 9 months old. Then we are on number 2 but I have friends that are on 4 or 5 size nipples. Your baby will tell you.
Congratulations and Good luck.
YES YOU STILL NEED BOTTLES, I USE THE PLAYTEX DROP IN AND I LOVE THEM
Well I had every intention of breastfeeding as well so I wasn’t even going to buy baby bottles. My sister in law insisted I take a few from her, just in case I needed to pump. Turns out for several different reasons that breastfeeding just didn’t work, baby was on formula before we even left the hospital as he was already dehydrated, I wasn’t even producing the colostrum anymore. So we had about 6 small plastic dollar store baby bottles and we saved as many of the glass bottles the hospital gave us the formula in. If you need to pump it depends on whether you have a double pump or single and how often you want to wash bottles.
This worked for about a month until he started eating more than 2 ounces at a time, then I bought a couple packs of the small Gerber bottles. I also use the Gerber nipples (the ones with the 3 holes in them) as that is what my baby settled on after trying the drop in bottles with the wide nipples, silicon nipples, orthopedic nipples, single hole – he refused them all except the Gerber. I now at 8 weeks have 6 small Gerber and about 8 of the larger Gerber bottles for when he starts eating more (i use them now though) and I have to wash bottles daily as he goes through 10-12 bottles a day.
I like the Gerber simply because they are a trusted name brand and the nipples are available in just about every drug store. You do have to replace the nipples every so often, more often if you run them through the dishwasher. They also have a variety of nipple hole styles, single hole, triple hole, cross cut, slow/medium and fast flow so as baby grows and eats faster, rice cereal in the bottle (if you choose that route) you know that the nipples will fit your bottles.
Some Mom’s skip bottles altogether and start with the Nubby sippy cups. I thought about that as I have one that was given to me until I saw the price to buy more, sorry I’m not that rich! They claim using the sippy cup avoids nipple confusion. Well that wasn’t an issue for us, baby still knows what my boobs are for, there’s just nothing there for him LOL.
